[7] A Brief Look at Pseudo Researchers in Salafiyyah: [Examination of a Fabricated Quietist Faction Within Salafiyyah Called Mad’khalism]

Samura Bin Jundub [may Allah be pleased with him] said: The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “I saw (in a dream), two men came to me.” Then the Prophet narrated the story (saying), “They said, ‘The person, the one whose cheek you saw being torn away (from the mouth to the ear) was a liar and used to tell lies and the people would report those lies on his authority till they spread all over the world. So he will be punished like that till the Day of Resurrection”. [(1)]

The deluded researchers at Wikipedia stated, “The movement has, in essence, been a reaction against the Muslim Brotherhood, rival Sahwa movement as well as the Qutbi movement; Sayyid Qutb, that movement’s figurehead, is considered to be an apostate by Madkhali and his movement”.[End of quote]

They say that this group known as the Mad’khalis (so-called Mad’khalis) was born out of opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood, the rival Sahwa movement, and the Qutbi movement! Indeed, this claim demonstrates the repugnant ignorance of these pseudo-researchers once again, due to the fact that the Kharijite methodology of the “Muslim Brotherhood Sect” and the “Qutbis” emerged during the era of the Sahaabah, and this destructive methodology has always been refuted in both the Books of Aqeedah and the scholars’ discussions regarding the deviant sects in the Ummah. Hafs Bin Humaid [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: I said to Abdullaah Ibnul Mubaarak [may Allah have mercy upon him], “How many sects have this Ummah spilt into?” He said, “The foundation of the sects are four: the Shia, the Harooriyyah (i.e. khawaarij), the Qadariyyah, and the Murji’ah. The Shia (further) split into twenty-two sects, the Hurooriyyah (further) split into twenty-one sects, the Qadariyyah (further) split into sixteen sects and the Murji’ah (further) split into thirteen sects. Indeed, contemporary deviant groups and sects have already followed in the footsteps of the early deviant sects, and there is no doubt that Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen (The Muslim Brotherhood Sect) and the Qutbies have had their fair share of this falsehood and deviation. Articles you should read:

After being acquainted with the knowledge presented above, the seeker of truth will realise that names cannot change reality. Whether a group is called “The Muslim Brotherhood,” “Qutbi,” or “Islamic State (ISIS),” the fact remains that these groups subscribe to and propagate the khawaarij methodology, and scholars have not ceased refuting any group that subscribes to the methodology of any of the deviated sects. So, based on the imaginations of the deluded researchers at Vikipedia and elsewhere, it would be desirable or obligatory to concoct a specific group for every Salafi Scholar who has refuted the ideas of the Qutbies and the Muslim Brotherhood, namely Baazism for Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz, Fawzaanism for Al-Allamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan, Jaamism for Al-Allamah Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaami, Uthaymism for Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen, Jaabirism for Al-Allamah Ubaid Bin Abdillah Al-Jaabi, Al-Albaanism for Imaam Al-Albaanee, Abbaadism for Al-Allamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad, Luhaydanism for Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Luhaydaan, Salihism for Al-Allaamah Salih Aala Ash-Shaikh, Bukhaarism for Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari, Dhifirism for both Shaikh Khalid Adh-Dhafiri and Shaikh Abdullah Adh-Dhafiri etc. Imagine the response these cretins would receive if they approached Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan or Al-Allaamah Saalih Aala Shaikh and claimed that both of them deserved to be given a group name or that they both deserved to be called Mad’khalists for their writings against the Takfeeris among whom the Qutbis and Muslim Brotherhood Sects are the most active?!

The deluded researchers at Vikipedia say that Mad’khalism (i.e. so-called Mad’khalism) is a reaction against the rival Sahwa movement. Indeed, what must be made known as we stated earlier is that the scholars of Islam – throughout Islamic History – rebut any individual or group that opposes the sound Prophetic path whether in relation to beliefs, acts of worship, politics, enjoining good and forbidding evil, etc. When the Khawaarij first appeared and manifested their misguided zeal for upholding the pure Shariah, the Sahaabah clarified their misguidance. Ubaydullah Ibn Abee Raafi [may Allah have mercy upon him] reported that the Haruriyya (Khawarij) came out against Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [may Allah be pleased with him] and said, “There is no judgement except Allah”. Ali said, “A statement of truth by which is intended falsehood. Verily, Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] described some people and I recognized their description in these people. They speak the truth with their statements but it does not go beyond this”, then (the narrator) pointed to his throat. [Sahih Muslim 1066]

Ibn Abbas [may Allah be pleased with him and his father] debated with the Khawaawij and said to them, “As for your statement that Ali has appointed men to judge in an affair which only Allah can judge”, I recite to you a judgment given to men in the matter of the price of a rabbit and other hunted animals: “O you who believe! Kill not game while you are in a state of Ihram for Hajj or ‘Umrah (pilgrimage), and whosoever of you kills it intentionally, the penalty is an offering, brought to the Ka’bah, of an eatable animal (i.e. sheep, goat, cow, etc.) equivalent to the one he killed, as adjudged by two just men among you…”. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Ayah 95] I implore you by Allah, is the judgment of men in hunted animals better or their judgment regarding their lives and reconciliation between them? You know that if Allah had willed, he would have judged himself and not appointed men. Regarding a woman and her husband, Allah Almighty said:

وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ شِقَاقَ بَيْنِهِمَا فَٱبْعَثُوا۟ حَكَمًا مِّنْ أَهْلِهِۦ وَحَكَمًا مِّنْ أَهْلِهَآ إِن يُرِيدَآ إِصْلَٰحًا يُوَفِّقِ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَهُمَآ

If you fear dissension between them, send a judge from his family and a judge from her family. If they desire reconciliation, Allah will facilitate it between them. [Surah An-NIsaa. Ayah 35] So, Allah has made the judgment of men an established precedent (based on the final divine revelation – the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah). Therefore, in order to distinguish between fact and fiction when discussing the Sahwa-Islamic Awakening, one must be familiar with the sound Prophetic approach because it is well-known to the Salafiyyoon that the groups either deviated towards extremism or negligence while in pursuit of revival, so the upright scholars either warn the Muslims in general or refute the deviants. Al-Allaamah Saalih al-Fawzaan [may Allah preserve him] said:

The Islamic Awakening didn’t start in these days or in this era; rather, it began when Allah sent His Prophet with the message of Islam, which the people embraced in large numbers and groups. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, good has not ceased to continue in this Ummah, as the Prophet said, “There will not cease to be a group amongst my Ummah manifest (upon the truth). They will neither be harmed by those who forsake them nor by those who oppose them until the command of Allah come to pass [i.e. the day of judgment] whilst they are upon that”. Although the struggle between truth and falsehood continues, there are still callers to the truth and its helpers–those who follow the correct methodology and rise up to call it. The Ummah has not been all asleep or misguided in (any) era (during) the various eras to the extent that a group arose giving itself a name or the name “Islamic Awakening” because the meaning of this is that the entire Islamic World was misguided before these people (initiated) the awakening. This contradicts the statement of the Prophet “There will not cease to be a group amongst my Ummah manifest upon the truth”, and his statement, “My Ummah will never unite upon misguidance”.

Indeed, when carried out on the basis of the methodology of the righteous callers and that of the pious predecessors- the book of Allah, the Sunnah, and that which the pious predecessors of this Ummah were upon- and far removed from affiliations that are in opposition to the methodology of the pious predecessors, this (revival) is commended and safe from criticism. Its goal should be to become acquainted with the truth in order to act and call for it and to become acquainted with falsehood in order to avoid and warn against it, but its goal cannot be to seek leadership or ascendency in the earth and revolt against the Ja’maa’ah. This is neither the correct Dawah methodology nor that of the pious predecessors; rather, it is the methodology of the Khawaarij and the Mutazilah-those who have deviated from the methodology of the Qur’an, the (authentic) Sunnah’, and the path of the pious predecessors. (They) were a disgrace in Islamic History and a wound in the body of the Ummah. We ask Allah to guide the misguided Muslims to what is correct. [(3)]

All praise and thanks be to Allah, is this clarification by Al-Allaamah Salih Al-Fawzaan, not the identical one given by all scholars who adhere to the correct methodology of the pious forefathers? Yes, certainly, it is the same methodology taught by Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz, Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen, Imaam Al-Albaanee, and al-Allaamah Saalih al-Luhaydaan [may Allah have mercy on them] and others. So, will the cretins and compulsive liars at Wikipedia give Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan the fictitious name Mad’khali because he opposes the Qutbies’ and Muslim Brotherhood’s flawed methodology in their pursuit of revival?!

Finally, the vicious liars at Wikipedia then stated that Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali declares Sayyid Qutb an apostate:

We challenge Wikipedia’s spiteful, compulsive liars to identify a single unambiguous remark of Al-Allaamah Rabee that demonstrates that he has declared misguided Qutb an apostate (i.e. one who was a Muslim but has been ejected from the fold of Islam). If they do not offer their evidence, we say to them, “May Allah’s curse be upon the liars.”

Imam Abu Hatim Ar-Raazee [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “A sign of the proponents of Bidah is that they speak ill of those who adhere to the authentic narrations of the pious predecessors”. [Aqeedah As-Salaf 105]

The cretins at Wikipedia stated, “Madkhalis, in contrast to members of other groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic State, have been described as very simple men who do not have the same level of intellectual depth and knowledge. As such, they are viewed as less of a threat by their opponents”. [End of quote]

Once again, based on the illusion regarding the existence of a group known as Mad’khalis, the compulsive liars at Wikipedia invented a characteristic for this imaginary group that they claim distinguishes it from two other groups, namely the Islamic State (ISIS) and Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen (The Muslim Brotherhood).

First, the goal of the cretins at Wikipedia in mentioning these two other groups besides the fictitious Mad’khali group is to merely make a false comparison while purposefully refraining from distinguishing between truth and falsehood because these pseudo researchers approach the subject matter related to the various groups that ascribe to Islam in the same way they seek to compare and distinguish between different ideologies. However, neither they nor the ideologues can hide the fact that ideologies are concocted by men and their proponents do not have an infallible text to judge between them, whereas any disagreement or debate between Muslims as well as others is to be referred back to the infallible final revelation, as Allah says:

وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِن شَىْءٍ فَحُكْمُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبِّى عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ

And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge). (And say O Muhammad to these polytheists:) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him, I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance. [Surah Ash-Shuraa. Ayah 10]

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said: “Verily he among you who lives long will see a lot of disagreement, so you must adhere to my Sunnah and to the Sunnah of the Khulafa ar-Rashideen [the rightly guided caliphs- AbuBakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali]. Cling to it stubbornly [literally: with your molar teeth]. Beware of newly invented matters [in the religion- related to beliefs and acts of worship], for verily every bidah (innovation in the religion) is misguidance. [Hadith 28. (Forty Hadith of An-Nawawi)]

Indeed, nothing remains after the preceding clarification other than to present the reality of the two groups – the “Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic State (ISIS),” and may Allah bless our elder teachers for revealing the reality of these Bidah groups. Read below:

Second, the compulsive liars at Wikipedia said that the Mad’khalis (i.e. so-called adherents to a strain of thought known as Mad’khalism) “Have been described as very simple men who do not have the same level of intellectual depth and knowledge. As such, they are viewed as less of a threat by their opponents”. [End of quote]

In the above claim, the liars desperately attempted to present a fictitious trait of the so-called Mad’khalis, which they say is lack of intellectual depth and knowledge in comparison to other groups. Once again the repugnant ignorance of these pseudo-researchers manifests because the intellect is not the criterion by way of which guidance and misguidance are distinguished in the Sight of Allah, rather, a believer is commanded to adhere to the divine revelation – the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah. Allah [The Most High] says:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ

O you who believe! Do not put (yourselves) forward before Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah. Verily! Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. O you who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet. [Surah Al-Hujuraat. Ayaat 1-2]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: When it is the case that Allah forbade us from giving precedence to (ourselves) over the Messenger, then which type of precedence to oneself over the Messenger can possibly be more severe than precedence to one’s intellect over the revelation he was sent with?! Many of the pious predecessors said, “Do not say anything until the Messenger speaks and do not act until he commands you”. The most disobedient individual among the people, and the worst in terms of giving precedence to himself over the Messenger, is the one who gives precedence to his or another person’s intellect over the revelation with which the Messenger was sent. And when it is the case that Allah has forbidden them from raising their voices above the voice of the Messenger, how about elevating their intellects above the Messenger’s statements and the revelation he brought? [(2)]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: What is required of the People of Imaan is that they be followers of the religion rather than innovators and that they refrain from putting themselves forward before Allah and His Messenger. The scholars say, “Do not speak until you are commanded by Allah and His Messenger and do not act until the Messenger acts and legislates; do not put (yourself) forward before him with either speech or action. Be followers of what has been prescribed and made clear to you in the (Islamic) legislation, and this is how the people of Imaan should be, neither innovate acts of worship nor rulings in Allah’s Shariah.

[وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيم – And fear Allah. Verily! Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing] -Meaning, Allah hears their statements, and nothing about your situation is hidden from Him. He knows the truth you utter and everything else you say, and He knows what you do. Be mindful of Him and be warned against (disobeying Him), for nothing is hidden from Him. He hears you and is aware of your situation. As a result, it is incumbent upon you to be followers rather than innovators in Allah’s Shariah. [(3)]

The Imam was also asked: “Do those who rely on their intellects to understand many religious matters fall into the category of those who are mistaken?”

Response: It is incumbent upon him not to rely on his intellect, but rather to study the texts and rely on the divine texts from Allah’s and the Messenger’s speech since there is guidance and direction towards good in them. The intellect can be correct or incorrect. Because of their intellects, the sects that reject Ahlus Sunnah were destroyed (i.e. misguided). They believed that they had good intellects and that their intellects arrived at what was correct, so they opposed the (divine) texts through their stagnated intellects, which they believed were sound.

What, other than their corrupt intellects led the Jahmiyyah to deny Allah’s Perfect Names and Attributes? What, other than their corrupt intellects led the Mutazilah to negate the attributes of Allah and declared that the sinners will remain in hell forever? (i.e. that the one who commits major sins besides Shirk is neither a disbeliever nor a believer in this worldly life, but will abide in the fire forever in the Afterlife). Similarly, their followers who repeat this speech are in their position. What, other than their corrupt intellects led the Khawaarij to excommunicate the people for committing sins – that the sinner is a disbeliever and that he will remain in the fire forever?!

Similarly, this is true of others among the proponents of Bidah. They are destroyed by their intellects because they believe they are secure, sound, good, and infallible, whereas that is not the case; rather, they are not infallible. They make a lot of mistakes, but they have a good suspicion of their intellects and a bad suspicion of the divine texts, so they are ruined. It is incumbent to have a good suspicion of the divine texts and an evil suspicion of the intellect and to submit the intellect to the divine texts. The texts are infallible if their chain of transmission is established to be authentic. As for the intellects, they are fallible. A person is susceptible to mistakes, shortcomings and desires. As for the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], what he conveyed from Allah is infallible. Likewise, the Qur’an is infallible- the speech of Allah. Therefore, it is obligatory that the Qur’an and Sunnah pass judgement on your intellect and that you give precedence to the Qur’an and Sunnah over your intellect- over the intellect of the Shaikh, the Mashaayikh, your forefathers, ancestors and all the people. The texts are given precedence over all the intellects. [(4)]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] also said: It is said that Iblees was distanced (from Allah’s Mercy) due to false interpretation. He made an analogy and gave it precedence over the divine text – that his reasoning by analogy takes precedence over the command to prostrate. [أنا خير منه – I (Iblees) am better than him (i.e. Aadam)]; that a virtuous one cannot humble himself to one who has been given virtue over him; then he said: [خلقتني من نار وخلقته من طين – You (Allah) created me from fire, and him (Adam) you created from clay].

He thought that this reasoning by analogy that resembled truth, despite being wrong, would aid him in his false interpretation. Then what happened to transpired and he became the leader of everyone–until the day of judgement–who gives a false interpretation of the texts. Many people in this world are followers of this cursed leader. If you contemplate the vast majority of the doubts that are presented as the truth by those who misinterpret the texts and seek to disprove them, you will discover that they are similar to the doubts that Iblees attempts to present as truth. So, someone says: “If the intellect and the divine text conflict, give the intellect the upper hand”. This is where this principle comes from, and he utilises it as a fundamental principle to reject the divine texts that he believes are in opposition to the intellect, much as his leader Iblees said that a (so-called) rational proof contradicted the instruction to make Sujood. This doubt arose as a result of his pride, which stopped him from submitting to the clear texts of the divine revelation. Similarly, every false disputer against the divine texts does so out of pride. Allah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۙ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَّا هُم بِبَالِغِيهِ ۚ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ

Verily, those who dispute about the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, without any authority having come to them, there is nothing else in their breasts except pride [to accept you (Muhammad ) as a Messenger of Allah and to obey you]. They will never have it (i.e. Prophethood which Allah has bestowed upon you). So seek refuge in Allah (O Muhammad from the arrogants). Verily, it is He Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer]. [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 56] [(5)]

Indeed, there is no honour for the one who wilfully misinterprets the Quran and falls into bidah, then pretends to be superior in intelligence, because all of this is a legacy of Iblees. The Salafiyyoon follow the true texts, the Qur’an and Sunnah, as practised and understood by the Sahaabah. Imaam Ash-Shaatibee [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: “Know that Allah has established this Shari’ah as evidence against the creation (i.e. humanity and jinn) – the old and the young, the obedient and the disobedient, the upright and the wicked. He did not specify the proof against anyone in exclusion of another person. Furthermore, all other revealed laws were established as evidence against all other nations to whom they were revealed. The Shariah is the judge, both in specific and in general, the (means of judgement) and the judge over all those who have reached the age of responsibility. It is the path connected to (what Allah has ordained) and it is the Greatest Guide. And have you not read Allah’s statement?

وَكَذَٲلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ رُوحً۬ا مِّنۡ أَمۡرِنَا‌ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدۡرِى مَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبُ وَلَا ٱلۡإِيمَـٰنُ وَلَـٰكِن جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ نُورً۬ا نَّہۡدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا‌ۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَہۡدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ۬

And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur’an) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism).’’ [Surah Ash-Shuraa. Ayah: 52]

He (the Messenger) was the first to be guided to the Book and Imaan, followed by others who followed him. The Book is the Guide, and the Sunnah that was sent down to him explains that guidance [i.e. the Sunnah and the Qur’an explain each other]. It guides all of creation [including mankind and Jinn]. When this is the case, the Shariah is worthy of being the decisive proof against them (i.e. against humans and Jinn) as well as a light that guides people to the truth. Their nobility is determined by how completely they embrace its rulings–through acting on them in speech, belief, and deeds–rather than merely due to the level of their intellects or nobility among their people. This is because Allah [The Most High] determined nobility through Taqwa and no other than it. Allah [The Most High] said: [إِنَّ أَڪۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۚ – Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has more fear of Allah. [Surah Al-Hujuraat. Verse 13] The one who is more steadfast in his adherence to the Shari’ah is more deserving of honour and nobility”. [(6)]

To conclude, the compulsive liars should understand that a person’s so-called superior intelligence is not a criterion of guidance or misguidance; rather, what is given consideration is one’s adherence to the clear divine texts – the Qur’an and the Sunnah as understood by the Sahaabah. What good would intellects be to the inhabitants of the fire of hell (may Allah protect us from it) if they did not utilise their faculties as their Lord commanded?!

Allah [The Exalted] says:
وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ

And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Ayah 179]

Allah [The Exalted] said:
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِىٓ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

And they will say, “If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze.” [Surah Al-Mulk. Ayah 10]

We ask Allah
اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي دِينِي الَّذِي هُوَ عِصْمَةُ أَمْرِي
وَأَصْلِحْ لِي دُنْيَايَ الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَاشِي
وَأَصْلِحْ لِي آخِرَتِي الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَادِي
وَاجْعَلِ الْحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِي فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ
وَاجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِي مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly [affairs], wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return, and make life for me [as a means of] increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil. [Saheeh Muslim Number: 2720]

Popes Received a Deserved Precise Response From An Erudite Contemporary Senior Scholar of The Ummah [Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali]

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allah preserve him] stated:

It has been broadcasted and spread in the media, including via broadcasts, newspapers, and websites, that the Pope of the Vatican Benedict the 16th attacked Islam and Allah’s Messenger, Muhammad [peace and blessings be upon him], describing him and his message to be evil and rough. This is a strange and astounding affair that contradicts sound reasoning and intelligence, and the evident reality of Islam – the Islam through which Allah removed humankind out of darkness (and entered them) into light, (removed them) from the tyranny of (false or distorted) religions to the justice of Islam, which (even) the people of intelligence amongst its enemies bear witness to. I will not prolong my praise of Islam and the Messenger of Islam, because indeed the world and the libraries are filled with it, so I say:

Indeed, Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger- truly and truthfully. Allah sent him as a mercy to the entire creation, as a bearer of glad tidings, a warner, a caller to (the path of) Allah, and an illuminating lamp (through Allah’s instructions from the Qur’an and the Sunnah). He came honouring the Prophets and their books; rather he came with love for them, belief in them and their books. Allah [The Exalted] said:

آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِن رَّبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ كُلٌّ آمَنَ بِاللّهِ وَمَلآئِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّن رُّسُلِهِ

The Messenger (Muhammad ) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, “We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers”. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Ayah 285]

Allah [The Exalted] – whilst commanding the Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] and his Ummah- stated:

قُولُواْ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالأسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَمَا أُوتِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ

Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).” [Surah Al-Baqarah. Ayah 136]

Allah [The Exalted] said:

قُلْ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ

Say (O Muhammad ): “We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob) and Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)] and what was given to Musa (Moses), ‘Iesa (Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allah) we have submitted (in Islam).” [Surah Aal Imran. Ayah 84]

Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] brought Adl and Ihsan, forbidding indecency, evil and transgression. Allah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّ اللّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاء ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاء وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Verily, Allah enjoins Al-Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allah Alone – Islamic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsan [i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allah, totally for Allah’s sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet in a perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith and kin (i.e. all that Allah has ordered you to give them e.g., wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help, etc.): and forbids Al-Fahsha’ (i.e all evil deeds, e.g. illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents, polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right, etc.), and Al-Munkar (i.e all that is prohibited by Islamic law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds, etc.), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression), He admonishes you, that you may take heed. [Surah An-Nahl. Ayah 90]

He brought Jihad to uphold the statement of Allah [i.e. none has the right to be worshipped except Allah] and eliminate disbelief, polytheism and corruption. Musa [Moses – (peace and blessings be upon him)] and the Prophets of the Children of Israel preceded him in this. And he brought Qisaas [the law of Equality in punishment] and Hudood [prescribed limits related to lawful and unlawful based on the Qur’an and Sunnah] to protect religion, lives, honour and wealth. And indeed, Musa (Moses) and the Prophets of the children of Israel after him preceded Muhammad in this affair, and that is good, benevolence, preservation of honour and wealth… to establish security and safety, facilitate (sound, lawful things that are) beneficial and ward off harm. No one describes Muhammad and his message as evil except a disbelieving liar who attacks Musa and his message, and attacks the Prophets after him who used to rule by the Torah. Allah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَا التَّوْرَاةَ فِيهَا هُدًى وَنُورٌ يَحْكُمُ بِهَا النَّبِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ أَسْلَمُواْ لِلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ وَالرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالأَحْبَارُ بِمَا اسْتُحْفِظُواْ مِن كِتَابِ اللّهِ وَكَانُواْ عَلَيْهِ شُهَدَاء فَلاَ تَخْشَوُاْ النَّاسَ وَاخْشَوْنِ وَلاَ تَشْتَرُواْ بِآيَاتِي ثَمَناً قَلِيلاً وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ وَالأَنفَ بِالأَنفِ وَالأُذُنَ بِالأُذُنِ وَالسِّنَّ بِالسِّنِّ وَالْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ فَمَن تَصَدَّقَ بِهِ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَّهُ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أنزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ

Verily, We did send down the Taurat (Torah) [to Musa (Moses)], therein was guidance and light, by which the Prophets, who submitted themselves to Allah’s Will, judged the Jews. And the rabbis and the priests [too judged the Jews by the Taurat (Torah) after those Prophets] for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah’s Book, and they were witnesses thereto. Therefore fear not men but fear Me (O Jews) and sell not My Verses for a miserable price. And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the Kafirun (i.e. disbelievers – of a lesser degree as they do not act on Allah’s Laws ). 45. And We ordained therein for them: “Life for life , eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal.” But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it shall be for him an expiation. And whosoever does not judge by that which Allah has revealed, such are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers – of a lesser degree). [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Ayaat 44-45]

Allah [The Exalted] said: [وَلْيَحْكُمْ أَهْلُ الإِنجِيلِ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ فِيهِ وَمَن لَّمْ يَحْكُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ – Let the people of the Injeel (Gospel) judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed (then) such (people) are the Fasiqun (the rebellious i.e. disobedient (of a lesser degree) to Allah]. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Ayah 47]

Indeed, the Jews and Christians disbelieved in the Torah and the Injeel (i.e. those amongst them who disbelieved during and after the departure of their Prophets), and they did not act according to the (sound) beliefs and rulings in them. And they belied Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], who came to confirm the Prophets and their books, including the Torah and the Injeel. They disbelieved in Muhammad and what was included in his message of ratification of all the Prophets and ratification of what is in the Torah and the Injeel, and what is in them of (sound) beliefs and rulings, except what Islam abrogated.

And they fought him with the fiercest of war, especially their rabbis, monks and popes, out of arrogance, envy and transgression after they distorted their books and manipulated their texts, and turned what they contained of (sound) beliefs, monotheism and faith into polytheism and disbelief, and invalidated the rulings in them!! So if this is their stance towards their books that they claim to believe in, then how is it difficult for them to disbelieve in Muhammad and in what he brought of the Qur’an, which falsehood cannot approach from before it or behind it [i.e. no devil -amongst humankind and Jinn – can approach it, neither by stealing nor by entering what is not part of it, neither by addition nor taking away something from it, because Allah preserved it at the time of its revelation, preserved its words and meanings, and indeed the One who revealed it (Allah) guaranteed that it will be preserved, as He [The Exalted] said: إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ ۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ – Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Quran) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (see Tafseer as-Sadi. Surah Fussilat. Ayah 42]

O People of the Scripture! Repent to Allah with sincere repentance, and follow Muhammad, about whom your books and Isa (Jesus) [peace and blessings be upon him] gave glad tidings. Allah says:

وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّراً بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِن بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ فَلَمَّا جَاءهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

And (remember) when ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: “O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you confirming the Taurat [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed . But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad ) came to them with clear proofs, they said: “This is plain magic.” [Surah As-Saff. Ayah 6]

Allah says:

قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْاْ إِلَى كَلَمَةٍ سَوَاء بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلاَّ نَعْبُدَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ وَلاَ نُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضاً أَرْبَاباً مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَقُولُواْ اشْهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ

Say (O Muhammad ): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” [Surah Al Imran . Ayah 64]

Allah says: [يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ . O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): “Why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know?”] [Surah Al Imran. Ayah 71]

Allah says: [قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجاً وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَاء وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ – Say: “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you stop those who have believed, from the Path of Allah, seeking to make it seem crooked, while you (yourselves) are witnesses [to Muhammad as a Messenger of Allah and Islam (Allah’s Religion, i.e. to worship none but Him Alone)]? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.”] [Surah Al Imran. Ayah 99]

O you who is called the Pope of the Vatican! Submit in Islam and you will be safe, and Allah will reward you twice; but if you refuse, then you are responsible for the sin of your followers among the European and non-European Christians. Submit to Islam so that the adherents to your religion will be safe, and Allah will enter you into a garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous, the followers of the truthful messengers. Believe in this great Qur’an, which is (trustworthy in highness and a witness) over all messages, brought the correct beliefs and just rulings that are supported by those with the most superior (sound) intellects and sound (uncorrupted) natural disposition.

Believe – you and your followers – in this Qur’an that contains what I have mentioned to you, and has reached a degree of miraculousness that cannot be matched by any other type – material or religious. Allah challenged Jinn and mankind to come up with the like of it, but they are unable to come up with the like of it; rather, they are unable to come up with ten chapters like it, and not even a chapter like it. They are unable, even if they aid one another. In this alone is what should invite the popes and their followers to (Islamic) faith if they have a share of reason, prudence, comprehension and fairness. Submit in Islam O Popes, surrender and obtain a paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth, or else be sure of the severe, eternal punishment of a fire that Allah has prepared for the unbelievers, whose heat is intense and its bottom is far away. Allah [The Exalted] stated in the Great and His Book full of wisdom (i.e. full of laws, evidences, and proofs): [إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلاسِلا وَأَغْلالاً وَسَعِيراً – Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire]. [Surah Al-Insaan. Ayah 4]

Allah [The Exalted] says in His Great Book:

وَذَرْنِي وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلاً إن لدينا أنكالا وجحيما وطعاما ذا غصة وعذابا أليما يوم يوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيباً مَّهِيلاً . إنا أرسلنا إليكم رسولا شاهداً عليكم كما أرسلنا إلى فرعون رسولا فعصى فرعون الرسول فأخذناه أخذا وبيلا

And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. And a food that chokes, and a painful torment. On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. [Surah Al-Muzzammil. Ayaat 11-14]

O popes! Neither be deceived by the life of this worldly life nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah. And know that your predecessors have distorted your books, corrupted your religion, made human beings objects of worship besides Allah and claimed that Jesus is the son of Allaah or the third of three -Exalted is Allaah, far away and above is He from this. Allaah stated in His eternal and miraculous book that is preserved against distortion and alteration: [قل هو الله أحد الله الصمد لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا أحد – Say (O Muhammad): “He is Allah, (the) One. Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks). He begets not, nor was He begotten; and there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him]. [Surah Al-Ikhlaas]

And [The Exalted] stated in this great, miraculous book:

لقد جئتم شيئاً إدا تكاد السماوات يتفطرن منه وتنشق الأرض وتخر الجبال هدا أن دعوا للرحمن ولدا وما ينبغي للرحمن أن يتخذ ولداً إن كل من في السماوات والأرض إلا آتي الرحمن عبداً لقد أحصاهم وعدهم عدا وكلهم آتيه يوم القيامة فرداً

Indeed, you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing. Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, that they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Beneficent (Allah). But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave. Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting. And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender). [Surah Maryam. Ayaat 89-95]

O People of the Scripture and O Popes! All the messengers – including Jesus [peace be upon him] – came with monotheism and fought against polytheism. Allah [The Exalted] said:

لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحُ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اعْبُدُواْ اللّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ مَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللّهُ عَلَيهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَاهُ النَّارُ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ

Surely, they have disbelieved who say: “Allah is the Messiah [‘Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary).” But the Messiah [‘Iesa (Jesus)] said: “O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode . And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) there are no helpers. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Ayah 72]

So he [Isa (Jesus – peace be upon him)] commanded that Allah is worshipped alone, declared that Allah is his Lord, the Lord of those he addressed and was sent to (as their Messenger), and that whoever associates partners with Allah, then indeed Allah will forbid him from Paradise and his abode is Hell (if he dies in that state and did not repent). Allah [The Exalted] says:

لَّقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَاثَةٍ ۘ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۚ وَإِن لَّمْ يَنتَهُوا عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).” But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Ayah 73]

O Christians and popes! Refrain from what Allah has warned you against about deifying Jesus and others amongst the creation, otherwise you are upon disbelief and polytheism, and the recompense for that is that Allah will forbid you from entering Paradise and make your abode the Fire (forever if you die in that state and refrain from repentance through Islam).

Do not be deceived by what you found your predecessors upon, your popes and monks, because indeed – By Allah – they were upon falsehood and disbelief, and they have distorted the Torah and the Injeel, as I have told you before. Do not think that Jesus will intercede for you or enter you into paradise and save you from Hell, because this is not in his hand, and because you have opposed him and his belief- the belief in monotheism; and you have taken him as a god, whilst he has declared that one who does so is a disbeliever, and he will free himself from you and your misguidance, and your taking him and his mother as two deities besides Allah. Allah [The Exalted] says:

وَإِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَـٰعِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلۡتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِى وَأُمِّىَ إِلَـٰهَيۡنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ قَالَ سُبۡحَـٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنۡ أَقُولَ مَا لَيۡسَ لِى بِحَقٍّ‌ۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلۡتُهُ ۥ فَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَهُ ۥ‌ۚ تَعۡلَمُ مَا فِى نَفۡسِى وَلَآ أَعۡلَمُ مَا فِى نَفۡسِكَ‌ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّـٰمُ ٱلۡغُيُوبِ
مَا قُلۡتُ لَهُمۡ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرۡتَنِى بِهِۦۤ أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمۡ‌ۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيۡہِمۡ شَہِيدً۬ا مَّا دُمۡتُ فِيہِمۡ‌ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِى كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيۡہِمۡ‌ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ شَہِيدٌ
إِن تُعَذِّبۡہُمۡ فَإِنَّہُمۡ عِبَادُكَ‌ۖ وَإِن تَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): “O ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: ‘Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?’ ” He will say: “Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden and unseen. “Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allah) did command me to say: ‘Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.’ And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all things. (This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world). “If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise .” [Surah Al-Maa’idah. 116-118]

This is Jesus disavowing the belief of the Christians and their false belief in him and his mother that they are deities besides Allah, and declares in the presence of Allah that he only commanded people as his Lord commanded him (to worship Allah alone, my Lord and your Lord). Allah is his Lord and the Lord of people, and it is impossible for him to claim deityship for himself and his mother, and command people to associate partners with Allah.

If you deny the realities contained in this speech, argue and dispute about it, then indeed, I (i.e. Rabee Bin Haadi) invite you to Mubahala (see footnote a), just as Allah commanded His truthful and trustworthy Messenger, saying:

فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْاْ نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءنَا وَأَبْنَاءكُمْ وَنِسَاءنَا وَنِسَاءكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَةَ اللّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ

Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you, [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus)] being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity) say: (O Muhammad ) “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves – then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie.” [Surah Al Imran. Ayah 61]

There is a perfect example – for me and every Muslim – in this to follow Muhammad [may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] And peace be upon those who follow guidance.

When he called them for MUBAAHALAH, they asked him to give them some time until they consult one another. So they said to one another, “Do not do this, because by Allah, if he is a Prophet and we do this invocation, then neither we nor our offspring after us will be successful”. So they excused themselves from Mubaahalah and agreed to pay Jizyah, because they were scared of his supplication as they knew that he is Prophet. [An Excerpt from ‘Al-Jawaabus Saheeh. Pages 50-51. Slightly paraphrased]

MUBAAHALAH: Al-Haafidh Ibn Hajr [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “There is a benefit in the story of the people of Najraan, and in it is that Mubaahalah is legislated against the opposer when he persists upon [falsehood] after the proofs have been manifested. Indeed, Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] did call to it, then Al-Awzaa’ee [rahimahullaah] and some of the scholars. And that which is well known from experience is that the affair of one who performs Mubaahalah – whilst he is one upon falsehood – does not extend beyond the year of the Mubaahalah. This occurred between me and a person who was fanatically supporting some of the heretics and after two months he could not stand up”. [An Excerpt from ‘Fat-hul Baari’ 12/195. Slightly paraphrased]

Imaam Al Albaanee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] was asked about the ruling on MUBAAHALAH in relation to worldly matters: Question: The hadith regarding the Najran delegation is well known when they came to the Messenger of Allah [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], and then Allah revealed:

Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you, [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus)] being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity) say: (O Muhammad) “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves – then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie.” [Surah Aal Imraan. Ayah 61]

So he called them to MUBAAHALAH, but they refused. It is well known to us that MUBAAHALAH is not to be done except in issues related to Aqeedah, but some people amongst the Muslims suggest this ruling in worldly affairs between him and his Muslim brother; meaning, if my Muslim brother owes me money but denies it, then would it be permissible to suggest this ruling between me and my Muslim brother?

Answer: May Allah bless you. The answer to this question is that it is not permissible to suggest this in such a situation or suggest this Shariah ruling in relation to material issues due to two reasons: Firstly, because this story is related to issues of Aqeedah as you have stated today. Secondly, as for the material issues, then Islam has legislated a system and principle for it. He [i.e. the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] said, “The burden of proof is on the claimant and an oath is a duty upon the one who denies the claim”. So, there is no room for Mubaahalah in this affair, which Allah [The Mighty and Majestic] legislated in that affair between His Messenger [peace and blessing of Allah be upon him] and those Christians of the Najran who denied true Islamic Monotheism and persisted on the Trinity. So, this affair is not suggested in another issue besides this because neither is there a narration of the pious predecessors nor a hadeeth regarding it. However, if it must be done, then it can be suggested when two groups of Muslims differ in some ideas or Aqeedah- for example between the Mutazilah and Ahlus Sunnah. It is possible that if some Mu’tazilee is haughty after discussion and after evidences have been presented, then the Sunnee seeks Mubaahalah from him – that may the curse of Allah be upon the liars. Therefore, it is possible to suggest this in such an affair. (see footnote b) But as for the question with regards to suggesting this affair in issues related to material dispute, then this is not permissible. [An Excerpt from ‘Silsilah Al-Hudaa Wan-Noor 703’. Believer’s Bahaviour Towards Muslim Rulers – [Supplicates For Them….]

Relationship with non-Muslims in their lands: On July 28, 2000, Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen [may Allah have mercy on him] explained the Muslim’s relationship with a non-Muslim ruler and their subjects in the West as follows: Likewise, I invite you to have respect for those people who have the right that they should be respected, from those between you and whom there is and agreement (of protection) [i.e. Non-Muslims]. For the land which you are living is such that there is an agreement between you and them. If this were not the case they would have killed you or expelled you. So preserve this agreement, and do not prove treacherous to it, since treachery is a sign of the hypocrites, and it is not from the way of the Believers. And know that it is authentically reported from the Prophet that he said: “Whoever kills one who is under an agreement of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.” Do not be fooled by those sayings of the foolish people: those who say: ‘Those people are Non-Muslims, so their wealth is lawful for us [i.e. to misappropriate or take by way of murder and killing].’ For by Allah – this is a lie. A lie about Allah’s Religion, and a lie in Islamic societies. So we may not say that it is lawful to be treacherous towards people whom we have an agreement with. O my brothers! O youth! O Muslims! Be truthful in your buying and selling, renting, and leasing, and in all mutual transactions. Because truthfulness is from the characteristics of the Believers, and Allah – the Most High – has commanded truthfulness – in the saying of Allah – the Most High –“O you who believe – fear and keep your duty to Allah and be with the truthful”. And the Prophet encouraged truthfulness and said: “Adhere to truthfulness, because truthfulness leads to goodness, and goodness leads to Paradise; and a person will continue to be truthful, and strive to be truthful until he will be written down with Allah as a truthful person”. And he warned against falsehood and said: “Beware of falsehood, because falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. And a person will continue lying, and striving to lie until he is written down with Allah as a great liar.” O my brother Muslims. O youth. Be true in your sayings with your brothers, and with those Non-Muslims whom you live along with – so that you will be inviters to the Religion of Islam, by your actions and in reality. So how many people there are who first entered Islam because of the behaviour and manners of the Muslims, and their truthfulness, and being truthful in their dealings. As for the statement of the deluded liars “US policy-makers and senior advisors to the U.S. State Department have also advised the US government to fund al-Mad’khali and his strain of thought”, we must first remind the cretins that Al-Allaamah Rabee does not prioritize his intellect over the final divine revelation; rather, he uses Shariah texts to clarify the truth and refute all callers to falsehood. The religion he adheres to “is not a set of ideas, rather it is a divine revelation sent down – by the Lord of the universe – in the Magnificent Qur’an and the (authentic) Sunnah of the noble Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] – the Messenger who never speaks based on his desires, rather [إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡىٌ۬ يُوحَىٰ – It (i.e. the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah conveyed by the Messenger) is nothing else but a revelation that is inspired]. As for an idea, it can be (rejected, disapproved, etc) and debated, and it may be correct or incorrect. Therefore, it is not permissible to associate Islam with the term ‘Idea’ because it is something specifically attributed to the creation [i.e. humankind and Jinn]. An idea can either be correct or wrong, (but) as for the Shariah [i.e. the sound divine law, creed, and acts of worship conveyed by the final Messenger from the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah], it is infallible. Likewise, it is not to be said, an “Islamic idea”, because the scholar who has reached the level of Ijtihaad is restricted by the pure Shariah, so he is not allowed to contemplate (without referring back to infallible texts of the final revelation) and then legislate; rather he searches and follows the legislated Islamic path of (sound) Ijtihaad in order to derive rulings”. (2)

Indeed, if the disbelievers embarked upon funding so-called Mad’khali thought, they would have funded an illusion. Al-Allaamah Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali follows the Qur’an and Sunnah as understood and implemented by the pious predecessors, whereas the disbelievers and liars at Vikipedia follow conjecture and desires, as Allah says:

إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُ‌ۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّہِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ

They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! [Surah An-Najm]

Examine an example of the call of this Erudite Salafi Scholar (i.e. Al-Allaamah Rabee) when he stated: “The comprehensive Shariah understanding of Al-Fiqh Fid Deen “Whoever Allah wishes good for, He grants them an understanding of the religion!” When this understanding of the religion is mentioned amongst the people, they understand it to mean the books of Islamic jurisprudence (i.e. the books that discuss the rulings related to prayer, charity, fasting, marriage, etc); this is a deficient understanding. Fiqh (understanding) first and foremost is the understanding of the creed and Islamic monotheism. This is the highest level of Fiqh because the nobility of knowledge is (determined based on the) nobility of its subject matter. The best and noblest subject matter is Islamic Monotheism which teaches the people about the Attributes of their Lord and the perfection of His Attributes, (about) His Oneness, to worship Him alone and sincerely establish the entire religion for His Sake. Therefore, we seek an understanding of Islamic Monotheism from Allah’s Book (the Qur’an), the (authentic) Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], and from the understanding of our pious predecessors. We seek understanding in all areas of knowledge – understanding of halaal and haraam, acts of worship, mutual dealings, (sound) Islamic politics, economics, and in every affair. All these affairs – and all praise and thanks be to Allah – are extensively (found) within the (message) that Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] brought.

When Fiqh is mentioned, its intended (meaning includes) understanding of every affair that is connected to our religious and worldly affairs, and the foremost of them is the knowledge of Islamic Monotheism. There is nothing that can do without the knowledge of Islamic Monotheism. Some people deeply preoccupy (with other) sciences and subject matters, but he does not know this knowledge that Muhammad brought, to such extent that you find many people who are well versed in language, Islamic jurisprudence, philosophy and the science of rhetoric, but – by Allah – he does not know (the correct meaning] of Laa ilaaha illal laah’ – the Islamic Monotheism Allah sent all the Messengers with- the first and last of them. [وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِى ڪُلِّ أُمَّةٍ۬ رَّسُولاً أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ‌ۖ – And verily, We have sent among every Ummah [community, nation] a Messenger [saying]: “Worship Allah [Alone], and avoid [or keep away from] all false deities.” [Surah An-Nahl Ayah 36]

Every Messenger came with this until the advent of the seal of the Messengers Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], who resided in Makkah for ten years and called to Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism) – the foremost aspect and basis of his call. The prayer – the second pillar of Islam after the testimony of faith Laa ilaaha illal laah – was not legislated until in the 10th year (of his Messengership), and the full details of Zakat were not legislated until [after his migration (to Madeenah) and all the other laws. This shows the importance of Tawheed, so how is it that many people who ascribe to Islaam- those who claim knowledge – are ignorant of it, then how about the ignorant people?! And due to this, misguidance, Bidah, and the worship of graves have become widespread, and this arose due to ignorance regarding the (perfect) Names and Attributes of Allah and negation of Allah’s (perfect) Attributes. (Also), a people from other religions entered into Islam and plotted against the people (through) corrupt sciences – rhetoric, philosophy, forged historical accounts, and what is similar to that, and thus corrupted their creed and methodology”. Would the unbelievers endorse Al-Allaamah Rabee’s above declaration and disseminate his works translated into English to their colleagues and universities, allowing the Salafiyyoon to promote Tawheed and Sunnah as understood and practiced by the pious predecessors in those institutions and their mainstream media?! There is no question that Allah can guide them to the Qur’an and Sunnah, and the sacred scripture is the sole upright guidance, not so-called Mad’khalism. Al-Allaamah Rabee follows the Qur’an and Sunnah even though the compulsive liars desperately seek to distort or deny what is as clear as the midday sun. Look at some of his rebuttals against the figureheads of kufr and shirk!

Who expects the unbelievers to support the stances of someone who rallies the scholars and senior students of knowledge in the Ummah to examine the unbelievers’ schemes?! Examine the Shaikh’s statement as follows: “So, it is not permissible for the Ulamaa to remain heedless of their plans (i.e. the enemies of Islaam), their actions, their publications, their missionary activities and their various calls (to the Muslims). And also the various poisons they are infusing – which are in opposition to the Qur’an and the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) and his Sunnah. And nor of what plans they have for (the destruction of) the beliefs and methodologies of Islaam. It is not permissible either, to remain heedless of their concentrated efforts to Christianize or secularize the Muslim youth. And along with that, the Muslim youth and the students are not able to oppose this plan and strategy. Rather it is necessary that the distinguished Ulamaa – those who are experienced and shrewd – it is for such people, in all the places to undertake this duty. So it is obligatory for some of the intelligent and ingenious people from the field of Aqeedah to be mobilised for opposing these plans. And likewise it is a must that the intelligent and distinguished from amongst the specialists in the Sunnah – that they be mobilised for the refutation of these and similarly the eminent and distinguished from amongst those in the fields of Orientalism for the refutation of the plans of the Orientalists.” (Ahl ul-Hadeeth, p.102)

He also says: “I myself believe that it is a benefit – rather it is of necessity – that we know what the enemies are planning for us, and that it is necessary for us to prepare (ourselves in strength) to destroy their plans. However, I do not exaggerate in this matter, rather my view is the view of our Ulamaa and they have all agreed upon this – that amongst the obligatory matters, there are some that are Fard Ain and others that are Fard Kifaayah – and even if knowing the state of the enemies is harmful – it is still necessary for us to know it – but it is treated as Fard Kifaayah. When some attend to it, then the harm is removed from the rest” up until he said: “So I consider that there is no criticism for the Ulamaa and the students of knowledge who take great concern for preserving the Sharee’ah of Allaah – in terms of the Book, the Sunnah, and its understanding – for this is one of the duties of the Kifaayah actions. We’ve already proven beyond doubt in part 1 that there are no strains in Salafiyyah, let alone one known as Madkhalism; therefore, there’s no need to address anything related to its so-called origin or emergence as a movement; otherwise, we’ll engage in a fruitless debate in attempting to rebut this delusion of the deluded liars at Wikipedia. Everything said by the liars about this fictitious strain within Salafiyyah is intended to misconstrue the reality of Al-Allaamah Rabee’s approach and efforts in rebutting Ahlul Bidah. So, when their misguided tactics and covert attempts to infiltrate Salafiyyah were uncovered, they concocted an imaginary strain within Salafiyyah which they called Madkhalism and falsely attributed it to Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’kali. Regarding the claim of the liars that “the movement (i.e., so-called Mad’kalism) lost its support base in the country (i.e. Saudi Arabia) and has mostly been relegated to the Muslim community in Europe, with most Saudi Arabians not taking the edicts of Madkhalists seriously,” this is yet another desperate attempt – through this fictitious strain within Salafiyyah – to claim that Al-Allaamah Rabee’s stances are incorrect. Indeed, even if Al-Allaamah Rabee’s clarifications are rejected by all the political activists and the Khawaarij, including the pathetic liars at Wikipedia, this does not mean that the Shaikh is incorrect; rather, in Islam, what is given consideration is the clarification that is in agreement with the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah as understood and implemented by the pious predecessors. Therefore, the sincere seeker of truth follows the proofs and does not take into account the large numbers in opposition, regardless of whether the clarifier’s clarifications are accepted or rejected in any location on Earth. Imaam Abu Shaamah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “When the command to adhere to the Jamaa’ah (the main body) is (mentioned), then the intent behind it is to adhere to the truth, even if those who follow it are few and those who oppose it are numerous. That is because the truth is that which the first Jamaa’ah was upon- the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] and his companions [may Allaah be pleased with them]- and one does not give consideration to the numerous people of falsehood”. Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Let every Muslim be careful of being deceived by the great numbers [of people upon such and such idea, view, belief, way of life, etc], whilst saying, ‘Indeed, the people have become such and such, and have become accustomed to such and such, so I am with them’. This is a great calamity, for indeed many people of the past were destroyed due to this [i.e. blindly following the majority]. Therefore, O sensible one! It is obligated on you to examine yourself; take account of yourself and adhere to the truth, even if the people abandon it. Beware of what Allaah has forbidden, even if the people do it, for indeed the truth is more worthy of being followed, just as Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَإِنْ تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّه ِ -And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah’s Path. [Surah Al An-aam Ayah 116]

And Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَمَآ أَڪۡثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتَ بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ-And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly] [Surah Yusuf Ayah 103]. [3]

Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi’ee may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “If numbers are the scale by way of which you judge, then the majority are mostly blameworthy; and if persuasive speech and eloquence is the scale by way of which you judge, then indeed Allah described the Munaafiqoon that they have tongues that utter beautiful speech. Allah said: [وَإِن يَقُولُواْ تَسۡمَعۡ لِقَوۡلِهِمۡ – And when they speak, you listen to their words]. [Surah Al-Munaafiqoon. Aayah 4]

Therefore, what is given consideration is that one knows the people of truth by their characteristics – that they call to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, his family, and companions], and they neither desire reward from the people nor seeking to be thanked”. Indeed, the measure by which truth is distinguished from falsehood is not whether or not one takes Shaikh Rabee’s refutations seriously; rather, one examines the evidence offered by this sincere, devout, and valiant Scholar [may Allah protect him]. Finally, regarding the satanic claim of the Vikipedia Shayaateen that Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali and those who support his knowledge-based refutations are a cult and that this is also the view of Dr. Umar Ashqar and some in the English language media, this is undoubtedly another desperate attempt to distort the truth, just as they have done with a fictitious strain within Salafiyyah known as Mad’khalism although there are neither strains nor cults within Salafiyyah; rather, those who have deviated from sound Salafi principles and still seek to ascribe to it to justify their deviations are well known to either hasten towards extremism or negligence, and thus some Salafi scholars, including Al-Allamah Rabee, Al-Allamah Ubaid, and their students, clarified the reality regarding these deceivers. So, the deceivers accused Al-Allaamah Rabee of cultism after the robust and knowledge-based refutations against them became widely accessible to the Salafiyyoon. Indeed, none of the Shayaateen liars on Wikipedia or elsewhere can produce a single piece of knowledge-based evidence to show that Al-Allaamah Rabee and those who assisted him in his Jihaad against Ahlul Bidah and the political activists are cultists. This is why the Shaikh addressed them as follows:

“We are challenging Ahlul Bidah Wal Ahwaa [the adherents to bidah and followers of vain desires] in their creed and politics. We say, between us and you are the (path, understanding of the) pious predecessors and books (of the pious predecessors). Ahmad [i.e. Imaam Ahmad] used to say to the proponents of bidah, ‘Between us and you are the funerals (i.e. whose funeral will be attended by Ahlus Sunnah in great numbers)’. We say (i.e. at present), ‘Between us and you are the books (of the pious predecessors)- the books are present! Allah said to His Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]: [قل فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ – All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel made unlawful for himself before the Taurat (Torah) was revealed. Say (O Muhammad ): “Bring here the Taurat (Torah) and recite it, if you are truthful]. So, they bring the Torah and you prove them to be upon falsehood. We bring the books of the pious predecessors – the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the books of Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasaa’ee, and what was authored by Ahmad and others; we bring them (to prove) those who are on the path of these (pious predecessors) and those who turn away and oppose them. Just as Allaah challenged the Jews to bring the Torah, so the Torah was brought and they were exposed. We challenge these people to bring the books of the pious predecessors, so that the Mubtadi is exposed, and to clarify who the deviants are- whether us or them? Are they able to challenge? Can they open their mouths like this? We fill our mouths with courage – challenge everyone who says that we are upon other than the methodology of the pious predecessors. We, by Allaah, call to the methodology of the pious predecessors- to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]. We use the book of Allah and the Sunnah as proof for our beliefs, our acts of worship, our dealings with rulers and their subjects, and in dealing with groups and sects. As for Dr. Umar Al Ashqar, may Allah have mercy on him, if this is actually his statement as transmitted by the Shayaateen liars at Wikipedia, then indeed, it is a disgusting lie and slander. However, regardless of whether this is his statement or not, his affair was not hidden from the Salafiyyoon. Shaikh Abdul Ilaah Lahmami Al-Maghribi [may Allah preserve him] stated, “I heard from our Sheikh Muhammad Abdulwahhab Marzooq al Banna [may Allah have mercy upon him] that he (i.e. Umar Ashqar) was one of his students in the Jamiah al Islamiyyah in Madinah and that later he followed the Manhaj of the Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen. And that even Abdulrahman Abdulkhaliq who also later followed the manhaj of the Ikhwaan complained to Sheikh al Banna about Umar al Ashqar following the Ikhwaan”. [5]

This classification of a strain within Salafiyyah known as Madkhalism is a ruse concocted by Salafiyyah’s sworn foes. They are unable to present concrete evidence to confront the sound Salafi methodology and its upright scholars, therefore they resort to lies, fantasy, delusions, and slander. Indeed, the sound methodology that Al-Allaamah Rabee propagates is the same that Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz, Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen, Imaam Al-Albaanee, and others have advocated, and not a single one of them advocates false Takfeer, rebellion, demonstrations, and turmoil in Muslim lands. This so-called decline of so-called Madkhalism is nothing more than a desperate attempt by the liars to make it appear as if the methodology preached by Al-Allaamah Rabee in dealing with rulers is unique to him, when, in fact, everything the Shaikh says about rulers is what other upright Salafi scholars say. Al-Allaamah Saalih al-Fawzaan [may Allah preserve him] stated, “We know that the khawaarij are those who hold that they can renounce obedience (to the ruler). They hold that the ruler is not given the oath of allegiance or that it is not binding upon the people to maintain their oath of allegiance to him when he becomes sinful, and they (also) declare the Muslims to be disbelievers for committing major sins. So if they adopt this school of thought and there arises neither uproar nor killing, then they are left alone, advised, and given clarification in the hope that they may repent. If they cause uproar and manifest their strength, it then becomes obligatory for the Muslims (i.e. the ruler’s army) to fight them to avert their evil”.[3]

Al-Allaamah Saalih al-Fawzaan also stated, “There are different types of khawaarij: among them are those who carry weapons, those who speak out like the one (i.e. Dhul-Khuwaysirah) who said to the Messenger, “Be Just,” those who write, and the one who believes in his heart but does not speak or do anything, but has the belief of the khawaarij in his creed. However, some are worse than others”. [4]

So, based on Al-Allaamah Saalih al-Fawzaan’s clarification regarding the Muslim’s relationship with rulers and refutation of the Khawaarij, which is the identical clarification offered by all Salafi Imaams, such as Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz, Al-Albaanee, and Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen, will the liars at Wikipedia concoct a so-called strain within Salafiyyah called Fawzanism, Baazism, Uthayminism, or Al-Albaanism?!

Indeed, there is nothing left to say to the liars at Wikipedia other than that whoever among us is lying or hiding the truth regarding what they have written about so-called Makhalism and Al-Allaamah Rabee, then may Allah’s curse be upon the liar. If they are truthful, then call Allah to witness and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liar.

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah (The Most High) said: [وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ – And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth)]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Ayah 42]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “Allah forbade us from mixing truth with falsehood, thus leading to concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused with the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Likewise, when the truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and a false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he (i.e. the speaker) intends the corrupt meaning. [1]

This Ayah and its explanation by Imaam Ibnul Qayyim expose the true nature of this pseudo-researcher. He brings up the topic of Takfeer (ex-communication) while discussing Takfeeri groups like ISIS and others, who do engage in false Takfeer. However, he wrongly associates Sunnism with Jihadism, terrorism, suicide bombing, and false Takfeer. He stated, “Sunni jihadism has been characterized by transnational terrorism, suicide bombing, and ex-communication”.

Firstly, it has been previously stated in part 1 that the term Sunni cannot be merely used to describe anyone who claims to be a Sunni because being considered Sunni is not solely based on displaying certain characteristics of the Sunnah. Imaam Al-Barbahaaree [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: It is not permitted for a man to say, “So and so is a person of the Sunnah” until he knows that he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah, so it is not said of him, “A person of the Sunnah” until he combines all the Sunnah. Al-Allamah Saalih Al-Fawzan [may Allah preserve him] said: “The characteristics of the Sunnah are creed, knowledge, and adherence to the (path of the) As-Salaf As-Salih (the pious predecessors). But if there is nothing in him except a single trait of the (sunnah), he is not regarded to be from Ahlus Sunnah based on a single characteristic or one thing, then what about the one who has nothing from that? [2]

Therefore, simply identifying oneself as a follower of Sunnah does not necessitate that one has distanced himself from the deviant factions that go against the teachings of the Sunnah, rather, “Identifying with Islam is a way to distinguish oneself from the adherents of other religions, identifying with the Sunnah is a way to distinguish oneself from Bidah and the Shiites, and identifying with Salafiyyah is a way to distinguish oneself from the Innovated Dawah Methodologies, which are followed by the followers of various deviant groups.” [3] A man asked Imaam Abu Bakr Ibn Ayyaash [may Allah have mercy upon him], “Who is the Sunni?” He replied, “A Sunni is the one when the Ahwaa (innovations in religion) are mentioned (i.e. criticised), he does not become angry due to any of that”. [4]

Indeed, it is well-known to the true adherents of the Sunnah that the factions of Bidah, which wrongly associate themselves with Sunnism solely due to their non-Shiite beliefs, vigorously uphold their religious innovations in the religion. This category encompasses ISIS and similar groups. Hence, how can someone who truly comprehends this truth attribute Jihadism, terrorism, suicide bombing, and the erroneous Takfeer of the Khawaarij to Sunnism or the Sunnah?

Secondly, concerning Takfeer, we affirm what Allah and His Messenger have stated regarding the various designations assigned to individuals. Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan [may Allah protect him] said:

Allah created both Jinn and mankind and bestowed upon them the inherent capacity to recognise Tawheed, surrender to Him, and worship Him alone. Nevertheless, some embraced this belief, while others did not. Allah says:
[هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمۡ فَمِنكُمۡ ڪَافِرٌ۬ وَمِنكُم مُّؤۡمِنٌ۬‌ۚ – He it is Who created you, then some of you are disbelievers and some of you are believers].

Shaytaan and the proponents of evil wish them disbelief and evil, but Allah wishes them Imaan and well-being. Allah [The Exalted] says:

يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَكُمۡ وَيَہۡدِيَڪُمۡ سُنَنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِڪُمۡ وَيَتُوبَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ۬
وَٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡڪُمۡ وَيُرِيدُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلشَّہَوَٲتِ أَن تَمِيلُواْ مَيۡلاً عَظِيمً۬ا

“Allah wishes to make clear (what is lawful and what is unlawful) to you and to show you the ways of those before you, and accept your repentance, and Allaah is All-Knower, All-Wise. Allaah wishes to accept your repentance, but those who follow their lusts, wish that you (believers) should deviate tremendously away from the Right Path”.

And as a result, Allah sent the Messengers, revealed the Scriptures, and established His Proofs. Consequently, some individuals choose to embrace the truth and have faith, while others opt to reject the truth and embrace disbelief. Allah has indeed distinguished between believers and unbelievers in both this life and the hereafter, and He has forbidden the two groups from being considered equal. Moreover, Allah has outlined recompense and judgment for each group in this life and the hereafter. He has assigned unique names to each group, such as Mumin for the believer, Kaafir for the disbeliever, Barrun for the righteous, Faajir for the evildoer, Mushrik for the polytheist, Muwahhid for the monotheist, Faasiq for the sinner, Munaafiq for the hypocrite, Mutee’un for the obedient one, and Aasee for the disobedient one. Furthermore, Allah has prohibited that these distinct identities and attitudes are equated. Allah says: [أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجۡتَرَحُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجۡعَلَهُمۡ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ – Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds?!]

Allah says: [أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ كَٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ كَٱلۡفُجَّارِ – Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidoon (those who associate partners in worship with Allah and commit crimes) on earth?! Or shall We treat the Muttaqoon (the pious ones), as the Fujjaar (criminals, disbelievers, wicked, etc)?!]

That is to say, we have not made them equal since doing so would not comport with Allah’s justice.

Should we abandon the terms Kufr, Shirk, Kuffaar, and Mushrikeen mentioned in the Qur’an, Sunnah, and Islamic creed? This would go against Allah and His Messenger, and it would violate the teachings of the Book and Sunnah. If we change the true meanings of these terms, we would be aligning ourselves with those who distort the teachings of our Lord and the practices of our Messenger. What justification is there for such an act? Is it to appease the unbelievers? As long as we hold onto our faith, the non-believers will never be satisfied with us. Allah says:

[وَدُّواْ لَوۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءً۬‌ۖ – They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected (Faith), and thus that you all become equal (like one another)]. [5]

Furthermore, concerning Takfeer, the upright scholars of the Ummah – both past and present – are well-versed in the established principles, unlike the proponents of Bidah who follow the ways of the khawaarij while falsely claiming to adhere to Sunnism or Salafiyyah. It is imperative to study the knowledge-based clarifications on Takfeer authored by the esteemed Salafi students of knowledge [may Allah protect them].

Thirdly, it is important to remind Hasan Hasan that every sect of Bidah, including ISIS, inevitably intertwines elements of truth and falsehood. Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allah preserve him] stated: “All sects of Ahlul Bidah gather truth and falsehood, deny the truth that is with the other sect of Bidah and believes in that which they possess of falsehood. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ ءَامِنُواْ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ نُؤۡمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡنَا وَيَكۡفُرُونَ بِمَا وَرَآءَهُ ۥ وَهُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مُصَدِّقً۬ا لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡ

And when it is said to them (the Jews), “Believe in what Allah has sent down,” they say, “We believe in what was sent down to us.” And they disbelieve in that which came after it, while it is the truth confirming what is with them]. [Surah Al-Baqarah Ayah 91]

That is because they initiate a Bidah, mix it with what the Messengers brought, split their religion, and become sects, so there’s truth and falsehood within every group amongst them. They deny the truth that is with the other group and believe in the falsehood that is with them. This is the state of affairs of all the people of Bidah because with them there is truth and falsehood, so they split their religion and become sects. Every sect denies the truth that is with the other sect and believes in the falsehood that is with them, such as the Khawaarij and Shia. [6]

In conclusion, it is undeniable that Hasan Hasan made a grave mistake by wrongly associating Sunnism with Jihadism, terrorism, suicide bombing, and the false Takfeer propagated by the proponents of Bidah who hide behind the terms Salafiyyah and Sunni. His actions serve as a reminder of the intellectual struggle faced by those who fail to accurately distinguish between Ahlus Sunnah and Ahlul Bidah, resulting in a dangerous mixture of truth and falsehood. Furthermore, they wrongly affirmed certain affairs for Ahlus Sunnah that should not be affirmed, while also unjustly criticising the Sunnah for things that should not be criticised. Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhali [may Allah preserve him] said:

After speaking about those who make Takfeer based on falsehood [I] amongst the different factions of the Jahmiyah [II], the Khawaarij [III], the Rawaafid and the Qadariyyah [IV], and the reason behind such Takfeer, Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated, “On the opposite side of these people who make Takfeer based on falsehood, there are people who do not know the creed of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa’ah as it should be, or they know some and are ignorant of some. And perhaps what they know of it, they do not clarify for the people, rather they conceal it. Neither do they forbid Bidah nor censure ahlul bidah and punish them; rather, perhaps they would censure speech related to the Sunnah and the fundamental principles of the religion – completely – and would not differentiate – in that – between what Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah say [i.e. adherents to the sound Prophetic Sunnah and sound unity] and what ahlul bidah wal furqah say [i.e. the proponents of innovation in religious affairs who split (disunite due to their opposition to the correct path)], or they would affirm all their differing Madhabs [creeds, paths] like how the scholars would affirm the different opinions related to affairs of Ijtihaad about which difference of opinion is justified. [V] This path has overwhelmed many of the Murji’ah, some of the jurists, those pursuing the path of asceticism, and the philosophers, just as it has overwhelmed – first and foremost – many of the people of desires and rhetoric. Both these paths are perverted, outside the Book [i.e. The Qur’an] and the Sunnah”. [End of Quote]

After quoting the above statement of Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi said, “I say, may Allah have mercy on Ibn Tamiyyah. Indeed, he clarified the situation of the people of his era and those before them, then what if he saw the situation of many amongst the Al-Jamaa’aat Al-Hizbiyyah Wal-Bid’iyyah [The Groups of Illegal Partisanship and Bidah [VI] who ascribe themselves to Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa’ah and take cover behind them – in particular – to promote their falsehoods! What if he saw them whilst they have definitely gathered between the Madhabs [creeds paths] of the two groups- the khawaarij and those who follow their way in pronouncing Takfeer in the subject matter of Al-Haakimiyyah [VII] and the way of the Mur’jiah [VIII] in the manner they approach the affair of people who are upon the big and numerous innovations in religious affairs, and equating innovation in religion to those affairs of the religion in which Ijtihaad is justified, whose people are rewarded alongside a refutation against their mistakes! In the view of these people, the leaders of Misguidance and Bidah are like the Imams of Guidance and Sunnah. [IX] [7]

Finally, Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyah said, “Rather what is obligatory is to clarify that which Allah sent His Messengers with and (revealed) in His Books, propagate that which the Messengers brought from Allah and fulfill the covenant which Allah took from the scholars. Therefore, it is obligatory to know that which the Messengers brought, believe in it, propagate it, call to it, strive with it, weigh up all that which the people embark upon – [statements, actions, religious fundamentals and subsidiary issues about the apparent actions of the Limbs and affairs related to actions of the heart]- under the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, neither following desires [through] customs, a school of law, a religious order, a leader or a predecessor, nor following conjecture through a weak hadeeth or corrupt analogy, regardless whether it is an analogy that offers some degree of certainty or not, or blindly following someone who it is not obligated to follow his statement and action because Allah -in His Book – has censured those who follow conjecture and that which their souls desire, whilst they abandon following that which came to them from their Lord of Guidance”. [8]

Amr bin Al-Aas [may Allah be pleased with him] narrated that he heard Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] saying, ‘’If a Mujtahid gives a verdict according to the best of his knowledge and his verdict is correct, he will receive a double reward, and if he gives a verdict according to the best of his knowledge and his verdict is wrong, even then he will get a reward.’’ [Bukhari Number 7352]

Few Issues From This Hadeeth

[a] A Mujtahid (a scholar who strives to reach a judgement) is not deprived of reward. [b] The judgement of a non-Mujtahid is different from that of a Mujtahid. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said that the one who speaks about the religion without knowledge and out of ignorance [is guilty of] lying and sinning. The one who intentionally speaks to oppose the truth is threatened with entry into the fire of hell, as opposed to the affair of the one who speaks based on permissible Ijtihaad, for indeed he strives, fears Allaah as much as he is able, desires to seek knowledge as much as he was able, speaks for the sake of Allaah, knows the stronger proof and speaks based on that. This person is given two rewards if he is correct; but if he is mistaken, he receives one reward. [c] A Mujtahid can be correct or mistaken. [Arba’oona Hadeethaa Fee Usoolil Fiqh. pages 32-33]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee said, “We do not say that there are people of ijtihaad amongst ahlul bidah because they are followers of desires, and Allaah and His Messenger have testified to this. The misguided innovator stirs up discord and errs, and then says to you, ‘This is ijtihaad’. When Hikmatiyaar and the misguided parties [in Afghanistan] murdered Shaikh Jameel Ur-Rahmaan, they said: ‘This is ijtihaad.’ They do not fall into an affair of misguidance or a calamity except that they say, “This is ijtihaad.” This is [tantamount] to diluting Islaam, falsehood, misguidance, bidah and confounding truth with falsehood, when the mistakes of the [true and qualified scholars of ijtihaad]- for which they are rewarded- are placed at the same level with innovation, about which the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] declared to be a path that will lead to the hell fire”. إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُ‌ۖ

“They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire”.

The person who lacks sound Imaan and creed revealed by Allah, the Creator of the universe, will find themselves in one of two situations: either their knowledge becomes corrupted or their intentions become corrupted. The first situation arises when they rely on assumptions and the second situation arises when they are driven by their desires, or one may combine both. [1]

Hasan Hasan, a researcher, said some things that showed he didn’t know much when he spoke about Jihadism, extremism, and militancy. He connected these methodologies with the terms Sunni and Salafi in an article he wrote against Al-Qaida, Jabhat An-Nusrah, and other groups like them. He said, “Ahrar al-Sham, a Salafi-jihadist group close to Jabhat al-Nusra”. He also stated, “Sunni jihadism has been characterized by transnational terrorism, suicide bombing, and ex-communication”. “The Isis ideology is generally viewed as identical to al-Qaida’s or the Saudi version of Salafism – adherence to fundamental Islamic tenets – and so there does not seem to be a serious effort to study it more closely”. [End of quote]

Response

To begin with, it is undeniable that Hasan Hasan accurately characterised the trajectory of ISIS and Al-Qaida as identical ideologies because their course of action undoubtedly represents a novel and innovated creed. However, his ignorance in this particular field became evident when he linked them with Salafiyyah. The noble Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “You must adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs [Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali] after me. Adhere to it and cling to it firmly, and beware of newly invented matters in the religion, for every newly invented matter in the religion is an innovation in religion and every innovation is a path leading to misguidance”. [2]

Imaam Barbahaaree [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: It is not permitted for a man to say, “So and so is a person of the sunnah” until he knows that he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah, so it is not said of him, “A person of the Sunnah” until he combines all the Sunnah”. Al-Allamah Saalih Al-Fawzan [may Allah preserve him] said: The characteristics of the Sunnah are creed, knowledge, and adherence to the (path of the) As-Salaf As-Salih (the pious predecessors). Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn Aas [may Allah be pleased with him and his father] was asked about the worst thing he saw committed by the Quraysh against Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], so he said, “I was present when their notables met together one day in al-Hijr. They spoke about Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] and said, ‘We have never exercised patience in anything similar to that which we are exercising patience regarding this man. He has declared us fools, reviled our forefathers, criticised our religion, split our ranks and insulted our gods. Indeed, we have exercised patience regarding him in a great affair – or they stated some statement to that effect. So while they were engaged in that discussion, Allaah’s Messenger appeared and kept on walking until he touched the corner [of the Ka ‘bah, where the Black Stone is]; then he went past them as he performed Tawaaf around the Kabah. When he went past them, they made fun of some of the statements he was uttering, and I could see from [the expression] on his face that it [offended him]. Then he carried on and when he went past them the second time, they made fun of him in the same manner and I could see from [the expression] on his face that it [offended him]. Then he carried on and when he went past them the third time, they made fun of him in the same manner. Then he said, “O Quraish! Listen to me. By the One in Whose hand is Muhammad’s soul, I have brought slaughter to you”. The people were very shocked by his statement to the extent that there was not a man amongst them except that he froze as if there was a bird on his head, and those who uttered the harshest statements to him – before that – began speaking to him with the best words, saying, “O Abul Qaasim! Go away, go away, because by Allaah you have never been an ignorant person”. So he left them. Then the next day, they gathered at al-Hijr and I was with them. They said to one another, “You stated how impatient you are becoming with him, what you have heard about him and what he is saying, then as soon as he said something that alarmed you, you left him alone”. Whilst they were in that state, Allaah’s Messenger appeared and they all rushed towards him together, surrounded him and said, “You are the one who said such and such” – referring to what has reached them regarding the criticism he directs at their gods and religion. He said, “Yes, I am the one who said that”. Then indeed I saw a man amongst them grab the neck of his garment, so Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq [may Allaah be pleased with him] got up to defend him and said whilst crying, “Would you kill a man just because he says, ‘My lord is Allah?’ Then they left him and that was the worst incident of aggression I saw from the Quraish. In another hadeeth reported by Imaam Bukhaari, Urwa Bin Zubayr [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: I asked Abdullah Ibn Amr [may Allaah be pleased with him], “What was the worst thing the Mushrikoon did to Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]?’ He said, “I saw Uqbah Bin Abee Mu’ayt coming to the Prophet while he was praying and put his sheet around his neck and squeezed it hard. AbuBakr [may Allaah be pleased with him] came and pulled Uqba away from the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] and said, ‘Do you intend to kill a man just because he says, ‘My Lord is Allaah’, and he has brought forth clear signs (proofs) from your Lord?'”. [6]

It is evident from the narrations mentioned above that the Prophet faced significant harm from the prominent figures of the Quraish. And regarding the statement of the Prophet, “O Quraish! Listen to me. By the One in Whose hand is Muhammad’s soul, I have brought slaughter to you”, Shaikh Saalih Aala Ash-Shaikh [may Allaah preserve him] said, “These people come forward and express their doubts by claiming that the Prophet said, ‘I have brought you slaughter’… ‘I have brought you slaughter’. They understand the word ‘slaughter’ as cutting off the head. However, this interpretation is completely incorrect and far from what is correct. One of the reasons why it is far from what is correct is that no one from the Ummah among the companions of the Prophet to whom this statement was uttered, has ever implemented it in this manner until in recent times when these Khaarijites have started implementing it in such a way. The Prophet’s statement “I have brought you slaughter” was made in response to the cruel treatment of captives and enemies by the Arabs and disbelievers before Islam. They would torture, punish, and humiliate them in various ways. However, the Prophet prohibited such actions and instead introduced the concept of killing through confrontation, specifically in the context of war between combatants. In this context, slaughter means to kill and engage in combat, rather than simply pulling out a knife as some may assume. Islam abolished all the torture and mutilation that the Arabs used to inflict on people during war, such as cutting off ears and mutilating bodies. The only thing that remained was the act of killing during war between combatants. If a person is not killed, they are to be treated with honour, protection, and respect, and they fall under the well-known rules regarding captives. This hadith has many implications and requires a detailed explanation”. [7]

Hence, we would like to inquire from the malicious and uninformed researchers, once they have gained knowledge about the accurate interpretation of this hadeeth from a knowledgeable Saudi Salafi Scholar, will they continue to associate the actions of the Khawaarij (ISIS, etc.) with Salafiyyah or Suniyyah?! By Allah, they have spoken a grave accusation and a vile remark. May Allah guide them or shield us from their defamatory words. Aameen.

Narrations Regarding The Khawaarij

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon im] informed us about the khawaarij in many ahaadeeth. He said, “A people will come from the east who recite the Qur’an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion just as an arrow pierces its target and they will not return to it just as the arrow does not return to the bow”. [8]

He said, “During the last days [i.e. end of time], there will be young people with foolish dreams. They will say the best of statements amongst creation, but they will pass through Islam just as an arrow passes through its game. Their Imaan will not go beyond their throats”. [9]

He said, “There will be discord and division in my Ummah and a people will come with beautiful statements but evil deeds. They recite the Qur’an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will exit the religion just as an arrow leaves its target and they will not return until the arrow returns to its notch. They are the worst of the creation”. [10]

He said, “Some people from my Ummah will emerge from the east, who recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats. Every time a group of them appears it will be cut off. The Messenger repeated this and on the tenth time he said, “Every time a group of them emerges, it will be cut off, until Dajjaaj appears from their remnants”. [11]

Ubaydullaah Ibn Abee Raafi [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “The Khawaarij came out against Ali ibn Abee Taalib [may Allah be pleased with him] and said, ‘There is no judgement, except the judgement of Allah’, so Ali said them, ‘A statement of truth by way of which falsehood is intended'”. Imaam Wahb Ibn Munabbih [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “I was acquainted with the early period of Islaam. By Allaah, the Khaawaarij have never had a group except that Allaah caused it to split because of their evil state of affairs. Never did one of them publicize his opinion except that Allah caused his neck to be struck. Never did the Muslim Ummah unite behind a man from the Khawaarij. If Allah allowed the opinion of the Khawaarij to be accepted and established, then the earth would have been corrupted, the carriageways would have been cut off, Hajj to the sacred house of Allah would have ceased and the affair of Islam would have reverted to ignorance until the people seek shelter in the mountains as they did in the time of ignorance. If ten or twenty men among them were to rise, there would not be a man among them except that he claims the khilaafah for himself- every man among them would have ten thousand other men with him and all of them fighting each other, accusing one another of disbelief until the believer fears for himself, his religion, his life, his family, his wealth, and would not know where to travel or who to be with”. Imaam At-Tabari [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The Khawarij came to a village and captured a man and his daughter. She said to them, ‘O people of Islaam! Verily, my father is an old man so do not kill him, and I am only a girl. By Allaah, I have never committed immorality and I have never harmed anyone’. They brought her out to murder her whilst she kept on saying, ‘What sin have I committed; what sin have I committed?’ She fainted thereafter and they killed her with their swords”. [14]

Indeed, we have all seen the terrible acts committed by the Khawaarij in our time. The Khawaarij show no mercy, not even towards each other, as Imam Wahb Ibn Munabbih stated, “If ten or twenty men among them were to rise, there would not be a man among them except that he claims the Caliphate for himself; every man among them would have ten thousand other men with him and all of them fighting each other, accusing one another of disbelief”. Indeed, this is exactly what was happening in Syria. Furthermore, it is important to remind the Islamophobes, ideologues, rabble-rousers, and demagogues about the heinous acts carried out by certain leaders within the globalist community. The khaarijites distort the teachings of the pure religion and engage in slaughter and transgression, while some globalists initiate hostilities, transgress boundaries, and commit acts of violence in the name of upholding the so-called ideals of the so-called civilized world. May Allah safeguard us from the malevolence of the khaarijites and spiteful secularists. Aameen.

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah (The Most High) says:

وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشۡهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِٱللَّغۡوِ مَرُّواْ ڪِرَامً۬ا

And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity]. [25:72]

Muhammad Ibn Al-Hanafiyyah [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: In this (Ayah) falsehood means music. This is what Layth [may Allah have mercy upon him] reported from Mujaahid [may Allah have mercy upon him]. [(1)]

Ed Husain stated:

Abu Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash’ari [may Allah be pleased with him] narrated that he heard the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] saying, “From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk (i.e. for men), the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, ‘Return to us tomorrow.’ Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection”. [(2)]

Imam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisee [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “If you want to know the truth, look into the Qur’an as well as see whether the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] and his companions did any of that. Then look into the statements of those who followed the companions in righteousness and their followers and the jurists of the Ummah, such as Imam Maalik, Imam Abu Haneefah, Imam Shaafi’ee, and Imam Ahmad because all of them spoke ill of music. Imaam Maalik was asked about Music, so he said, ‘It is what the sinners do'”. [(3)]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allah have mercy upon him] stated regarding the evil effect of music on the souls, “It is the intoxicant of the souls. When the souls are intoxicated with the sounds (from music and musical instruments), Shirk (gradually) comes to them, they incline towards lewd acts and oppression, and thus they begin to commit Shirk, murder, and fornication. These three deeds are rife among the people who listen to music”. [(4)]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “What we and others have witnessed, and know based on experience, is that musical instruments and instruments used for forbidden amusement do not appear amongst a people, spread amongst them and they busy themselves with it, except that Allah (allows) their enemy to overcome them, and they are afflicted with famine, drought, and evil rulers [Footnote a]. Therefore, the sensible person reflects on the state of affairs of the world and examines it. And Allah’s Aid is sought! [(5)]

Consequences of Persisting Upon Evil, Whilst Receiving More Provision

Allah [The Most High] said:

وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ

Those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not. And I respite them; certainly, My Plan is strong. [Surah Al-A’raaf. 182-183]

Imaam Sufyaan Ath-Thawree [may Allah have mercy upon him] said that this means, “Whenever they commit sins, Allah bestows a blessing on them and makes them forgetful of seeking forgiveness”. [(6)]

Allah [The Most High] said:
ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِى ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِى ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُواْ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ

Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned. [Surah Rum. Ayah 41]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “This Ayah was revealed regarding the state of affairs of the world- the relationship between it and the events that occur. You see how the occurrence of those evil actions and defects (of the people) affects the harvest, vegetation, and animals in every era, and the manner in which those evils lead to other evils. Whenever the people initiate oppression and immorality, their Lord [The Blessed and Most High] brings about- from those evils and defects (of theirs)- deficiencies and harm in their nourishments, fruits, atmospheres, bodies, outward appearances and manners, as a justification for their deeds, acts of oppression and wickedness. The majority of the illnesses and the general evil affairs are remnants of the punishment afflicted upon the people of the previous nations, then there remained from that what remains, as a surprise punishment against those who remain upon the (evil) deeds of those previous nations”. First and foremost, it must be stated unequivocally that the coexistence advocated by Ed Husain and his ilk is one that will deprive Muslims of their identity, which is why you will find him promoting heretics who ascribe to Islam such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, as well as corrupt Greek philosophers such as Aristotle and others. Therefore, a clear distinction must be made between the peaceful coexistence pursued upon the path of the pure Shariah and Ed Husain’s corrupt understanding.

Second, Prophets Ismaa’eel and Ishaq [peace be upon them] were adherents of Tawheed and the pure Shariah revealed to them; however, some of their descendants strayed from the path of these two Prophets. The descendants of Ishaq, the Jews, corrupted the Torah after the departure of Prophet Musa [peace be upon him], and after Prophet Isa [peace be upon him] was sent, many of them rejected him. Then those who believed in Isa followed him until a time came when his followers innovated in their faith, such as the Trinity and other superstitions. Also, the descendants of Ismaa’eel (the Arabs) abandoned the path of Prophet Ibraaheem and Ismaa’eel, filled the Kabah with idols and worshipped many deities besides Allah; then Allah sent Muhammad [peace and blessings and Allah be upon him] as the final Messenger to return all of them (the descendants of Ismaa’eel and Ishaq, as well as humankind and Jinn as a whole) to return to Tawheed. Whoever refuses to submit to Islam and the Sunnah of the Prophet will dwell in the fire forever. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “By the one in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, none from this nation of Jews and Christians hears of me, and then dies without having faith in my message, but that he will be an inhabitant of (eternal) Hellfire”. [Sahih Muslim 153]

Third, Shaikh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allah have mercy upon him] has already rebutted those people of the Scripture who desperately attempted to validate their path after distorting it. Excerpts from Al-Jawaab As-Saheeh below:
